The development of hair transplantation is very old. Hair transplantation performed with the FUT method in the 1990s left its place to the FUE method, which was developed and used in the early 2000s. Today, the most advanced and latest technique is still used as FUE hair transplantation technique.
With the FUE method, which is one of the newest and modern hair transplantation techniques and accepted as the gold standard, we offer people with hair loss the opportunity to have natural looking hair.
The difference of the FUE technique used in hair transplantation is that it leaves minimal scars and shows rapid recovery. The success of the operation increases depending on the development of the materials used in the FUE method.
There are several types of the FUE method. These are:
- Classic FUE (Micro motor)
- Robotic FUE
- DHI hair transplantation (FUE with Choi implanter)
- Sapphire FUE (FUE with sapphire tip)
For example, the FUE hair transplantation method with sapphire tips is an important technique in that it allows a high number of hair follicles to be transplanted in one session.
The difference from classical FUE is that the grooves opened with sapphire material, which is a much smoother material, heal much faster and leaves minimum scars. The DHI method also stands out in hair transplantation with the aim of achieving fullness.
Natural and satisfying results can be obtained in this hair transplantation method with Choi needles.
Basic Stages of hair Transplantation
There are basic principles in all methods of hair transplantation operations. These principles are:
- Collection of hair follicles
- Opening the grooves
- Planting roots
Collection of Hair Roots
The collection of hair follicles is characteristic of the FUE method, which delivers a significant aesthetic success. In the FUE method, hair is collected one by one with cylindrical needles. Thus, hair follicles can be collected with minimum damage.
It is also very important to use needles with a size of 0.7 mm to 0.9 mm according to the size of the hair follicles or 1.0 mm for someone whose hair roots consist of 3-4-5 hair strands.
Removing the hair follicles according to their angles is another point that will prevent the follicles from being damaged.
For example, for someone with excessively curly hair, there are also needles called u-grafts with a curved shape which take the root without damaging it.
These stages of treatment are the details planned by the doctor before the operation according to the patient’s condition.
Opening the Grooves
Metal (steel) slits were used in the classical FUE method for the process of opening grooves. Today, we prefer smoother and sharper sapphire blades. With the use of sapphire tips in opening hair follicles, it is possible to determine a more natural hair transplantation angle and direction. As Premium Esthetic, we use Sapphire Tips for all our patients.
Faster recovery is seen after the grooves are opened with the use of sapphire tips.
A few different tips are sufficient for each patient, depending on the thickness of the hair follicles. Again, care should be taken to use each tip for only one patient.
Planting the hair
In the last stage of the planting of the roots, the hairs are placed one by one at 40-45 degree angles in the grooves opened in the right directions.
Follicular Unit Extraction, which is the advanced version of the procedure also known as the FUE technique, is performed in the Premium Esthetic Clinic with the FUE method with sapphire tips.
