HAIR TRANSPLANTATION WITH SEDATION

Anesthesia is the most painful stage in the hair transplantation process. Anesthesia is applied with three methods today.

  1. Anesthesia with a Needle

In this method, the first anesthesia application is administered with a needle to the person who will have a hair transplantation operation. Although these needles have very fine tips, they create a minimum sensation of pain in the head. Furthermore, since this anesthesia is applied to the scalp, the perception rate is slightly higher. Today, this method is the most commonly used form of anesthesia because of its low cost.

 2.Anesthesia with pressure

This is done with a device that is developed to reduce the pain of needle anesthesia and can inject the anesthetic substance into the skin with pressure. This device is touched to the skin and it leaves a more fluid anesthetic substance on the surface of the skin with high pressure. Afterwards, anesthesia is applied with a needle. Basically, this first applied anesthetic agent is not distributed homogeneously to the skin and cannot penetrate deeply. However, it lessens the pain from the needle anesthesia application.

3.Anesthesia with sedation

Sedation application is one step ahead of all other anesthesia applications.

Sedation application is the administration of an analgesic active substance to the body in a suitable dose according to the physical condition of the person. In this practice, the consciousness of the person is clear, but his ability to feel is numbed. Thus, no pain is felt from needles or other medical interventions. It is 100% painless.

It is an important point to have an anesthesiologist present during sedation practice. The dose of sedation must be carefully determined by the doctor according to the physical activity and pain threshold of the person.

Sedation hair transplantation with an anesthesiologist provides a high level of comfort to the patients and the team.

The important features of the sedation application applied in Premium Esthetic for hair transplantation are as follows:

  • A patient who is sedated does not feel any pain during local anesthesia.
  • The patient never loses consciousness.
  • The patient can easily eat a meal between procedures.
  • The patient can meet all his needs (such as going to the toilet, eating and drinking) during the operation.
  • As soon as the operation is over, the patient can return home or hotel without difficulty.
  • There is no disruption in establishing cooperation between the patient under sedation and the team.
  • The patient can be informed in a healthy and timely manner at all stages of the operation.

Thus, more contentment and satisfaction is manifested by the patient at the end of the operation.

Sedation cannot be performed without the supervision of an anesthesiologist

Sedation is performed under the supervision of an anesthesiologist and according to the results of individual analysis. In other words, the person to be sedated is processed as a separate step with a doctor other than the hair transplantation doctor. Before the procedure, the anesthesiologist makes a special sedation application according to the person’s height, weight and body activity. This application is usually performed in the arm by opening a vascular access. Heart rhythm and other vital signs are constantly monitored during the application. Therefore, the presence of an anesthesiologist on site is a very important factor.

We have both hair transplantation doctors and anesthesiologists at Premium Esthetic.
